
I’m Coach Misty, a certified run and strength coach with more than 25 years of experience helping people find joy and strength in movement. With credentials from RRCA, USATF, NASM, UESCA, VDOT and more, I’ve guided runners from their very first 5K to the marathon and ultra finish line, and helped everyday athletes build lasting strength and confidence.
I coach runners and non-runners who want their training to actually fit real life. Some people want to learn how to run, some are chasing big endurance goals, and others are picking up weights for the first time to make real changes. My job is to help you find a healthy balance between real life and real fitness, to meet you where you are and be in your corner for every step and every milestone of your personal journey.
I’ve been an athlete my entire life through many different seasons, and I pair that lived experience with a deep respect for the science of running and strength training. You can count on up-to-date, evidence-informed training that’s tailored to your current season, so you can keep progressing, stay healthy, and feel proud of the work you’re doing.

1990–2000 · The Foundation
- Fell in love with running and endurance sports
- Completed early marathons and long-distance events
- Discovered a passion for coaching and helping others take their first steps
2000–2013 · Leadership & National Impact
- Helped build and scale Fleet Feet Training Programs (5K through Marathon)
- Co-designed and led the Fleet Feet National Coaching Certification Program
- Mentored hundreds of coaches and thousands of runners across the country
- Launched beginner running programs throughout Northwest Indiana
2014 · Miles with Misty coaching & training studio opens
- Founded Miles with Misty in Crown Point, IN
- Created custom coaching plans for runners of all levels
- Led strength and group fitness classes, VO₂ max and RMR testing, and personal training
- Specialized in performance coaching paired with real-life habit change
2017–2020 · Studio Coaching & Community Building
- Coached in boutique studio settings including Orangetheory Fitness and STRIDE Fitness
- Helped launch and grow studio training programs and group classes
- Trained and mentored coaches while building strong, supportive fitness communities

- Group challenges, seminars, and resources through The Runner’s Corner online community
- Continues to blend mindset, accountability, and performance for runners and everyday athletes
